    To whom it may concen,

I am a PhD student from UP College of Education, majoring in Language Education. I am a Chinese teacher at Chinese International School Manila, coming from Shanghai, China. This semester I enrolled EDL 221 Second Language Teaching as my prerequisite course. One of the course requirements is to observe language classes and do the teaching demo. Since I am not a teacher of English, it will be a challenge for me to have a demonstration teaching at UP Integrated School (which is our suggested school).

However, I learned that UP Department of Linguistics offers Mandarin Chinese for undergrads as an elective. I want to ask if I can do the teaching demo in your department.

Hi Matt!! I believe it’s ok for you to conduct teaching demo in the Chinese language classes offered by the department. You just need to ask permission from the Chairperson of the department. You may call the department @ 02-9269887 or pay a visit to inquire whether you need to write a formal letter or verbal request would suffice..Good luck!
