What I feel about a student dropping?

A student drops for various reasons..

It may be because he/she is not doing well in the course and he/she needs to evade the low grade for it might affect his/her GWA..

Or a terror professor is becoming too much of a headache..

It could also be due to lack of appetite for the chosen course..this is understandable..sometimes you’ve gone through a lot just to get into a course and then later on you suddenly realize that it isn’t actually worth the time..

Whichever is the reason, I still feel bad, or should I say “sad” whenever a student of mine drops..

I would always think about the time, the effort, the money and often the “slot” wasted…

And it’s even worse when a relatively good student drops…It lowers the energy..it slows down the adrenaline…

SO PLEASE DON’T DROP..EVEN IF ONCE IN A WHILE I TELL YOU TO DO SO..UNLESS I MYSELF PROVIDE YOU A “DROPPING SLIP”!

1st Sem Classes: 1st Impression

I’m glad I only have three classes to teach this semester..and i’ve got just the right number of students per class..First impression? hmm..

Linguistics 120 WFU

Hmmm..Medyo confused parin ang mga mukha..I can see some who are obviously serious about pursuing linguistics..Meron ding first day palang eh mukhang detached na agad..

Linguistics 110 WFW

Almost all of them are freshies..masarap turuan..maraming tanong..maraming nakakatuwang gestures na halatang di pa sanay sa kultura ng UP..Tumatayo parin pagnagre-recite…

Linguistics 110 WFX

I definitely love this class..First day palang active na sa recitation..I like their aura, mukhang masasaya pero matino..Sana tuloy tuloy na…
