About the course: Introduction to principles and methods used in the scientific study of language.

 

Course Objectives: At the end of the semester, the student is expected to:

1. learn the basic concepts used in the study of language.

2. learn and apply the basic concepts discussed under the specific components of grammar.

3. practice the skills of analyzing different language phenomena.

4. relate linguistics, as a social science, to various fields and disciplines of human knowledge.
